Today is a great day to talk about fishing windy conditions. In central Florida, the wind is 19 MPH out of the WNW. This is out of the norm for us. I canceled an early morning trip solely because I did not want to fight with boat control on such a windy day. Let’s look at a few resources who look at the wind as a positive thing in regards to fishing.
According to a Bass Pro Shops article, wind turns the bit on. The fish move and feed more actively during windy conditions as a part of their instincts. Fishing on windy days is about going with the flow as articulated in Fishing and Wind from UltimateBass.com.
Well, I bailed out but maybe next time I will recall this advice.
