Pier Fishing Cart Essentials

February 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Take an early morning walk down a fishing pier and you can easily spot the pros. They are catching their own bait, rigging multiple fishing poles and dressed to face the blazing sun for the day. Nearby, you also notice the rolling fishing cart rig from which all things fishing are stored and transported.

Some essentials of the pier fishing cart include…

  • It has to roll - You will likely have to travel some distance to get to where you want to be.
  • Cooler - Beverages on ice are a must. A sandwich or two is a nice touch. Do not store your bait with your food and drink.
  • Rod holder - A built-in rod holder is needed for that journey to and from the pier. It should hold them upright and securely.
  • Bait Live well - Live bait works best. Keep it fresh in an insulated bucket with a battery operated aerator.
  • Bait on Ice (not alive, not a skating production) - Dead bait works well. Keep it cool because hot, dead bait is just nasty.
  • Accessories - Protect yourself. Wear a hat and sunblock. The UV rays are something to take seriously.

Pier fishing is better when you are well equipped. A pier fishing cart can take your pier fishing experience to the next level. It can be the difference between a nice walk on the pier and a truly awesome fishing experience.
